Volunteering

Our volunteers make what we do possible. We currently don’t have any paid staff on our team, so volunteers really are at the heart of what we do. From working alongside us to working from home or driving to deliver items, each person makes what we do a reality and impacts the lives of bereaved families. We have lots of opportunities, no matter what your skill set or availability. Scroll down to see some of the areas we are currently looking for volunteers in.

Volunteering
  • Drivers

    Drivers

We urgently need people who are regularly driving out of the Greater Manchester area to any part of the UK or Ireland and are returning on a regular basis (at least every 6 months). Our casting programme requires us to transport precious casts back to hospitals. These casts can not be replaced and are incredibly fragile so posting isn’t an option. If you are regularly driving or could drive to areas outside of Greater Manchester, please get in contact

  • Local Ambassadors

    Local Ambassadors

Do you have a special relationship with your local hospital or hospice and want to volunteer a small amount of time that fits around your other commitments? We are looking for local ambassadors who can help us create personal relationships with our partner sites. The primary role for hospital links will be to receive deliveries and take them to hospital wards. For this reason, we ask that applicants live in a smoke and pet free home.

  • University Applicants

    University Applicants

We recognise that there are a lack of volunteering opportunities for students wishing to submit applications for midwifery, nursing and other clinical-based courses. We want to help offer these opportunities and understand this may be something you do for a short time to help improve your application (please note we ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months). We have opportunities working alongside midwives and hope they give you a better insight into bereavement care before your training begins.

  • Administration

    Administration

So much of what we do happens behind the scenes and a lot of administrative work goes into delivering our services. Tasks range from packaging orders to completing documents and contacting hospitals. If you can volunteer a regular amount of time to work from our offices in Stockport or in some cases from home, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Social Media and Design

    Social Media and Design

We’ll be the first to hold our hands up and say social media and the design linked to it takes time and a keen eye. If you’re social media savvy and can volunteer a regular amount of time to monitor, post on and maintain our Instagram, Facebook. Twitter or TikTok platforms, get in touch!

  • Trustees

    Trustees

We have an incredible team of trustees who each bring their own unique skill set to the table, but we’re always looking for more people to join the team. If you have specific experience or skills you feel we could benefit from on our trustee board, please contact us for an application form. Please note: this is a long term and intensive commitment which should be considered fully before applying.

For more information, or to apply for any of the above roles, please contact us.
